Opportunity image

The Emergency Department is exceptionally busy, and patients may wait to see a clinician for a lengthy period of time.

The Emergency Department Volunteer will provide an array of tasks that will enhance patient experience and support our patients / carers whilst waiting to see a clinician. They will meet and greet patients and their relatives on arrival to the department, providing directional information, whilst offering assistance and help with enquiries.

The Emergency Department Volunteer will also support the staff team with tasks such as offering refreshments, being a friendly face for patients and having conversations with patients and/or relatives.

Due to the nature of the environment, this role requires someone who is kind, compassionate and has an empathetic nature, whilst being resilient and able to stay calm when difficult situations arise and capable of coping well in a fast-paced environment.
