Day Case Unit Volunteer (St Luke's Hospital)

The Day Case Unit is a new surgical unit at St Luke’s Hospital that solely delivers planned day surgery. These operations will be performed efficiently in one place, meaning that patients will have shorter waits for surgery and will be more likely to go home on the same day.

Following up patients after their day surgery is an important part of the pathway. Volunteers will support the BTHFT Day Case Unit team by contacting patients over the phone, 1 day post surgery to gain feedback on their experience and signpost to a healthcare professional where necessary.
